Cyber security workforce challenges are global. Countries are developing their own approaches to skills, roles, qualifications and professional standards, but greater international alignment can make these approaches easier to understand, compare and apply.

The ICCSW provides a forum for governments to share experience, develop common approaches and support the continued professionalisation of the cyber security workforce.

The Coalition

OUR PURPOSE

The ICCSW brings together national governments and relevant international organisations to support the development and sustainability of skilled cyber security workforces.

Its work focuses on improving consistency in how cyber security roles, skills and professional standards are understood, while recognising that national approaches and requirements will differ.

  1. Common language: Develop shared terminology for the cyber security workforce.

  2. Shared understanding: Compare national approaches to workforce standards and frameworks.

  3. Quality: Explore a common baseline for professional quality and competence.

  4. Interoperability: Support greater alignment between national frameworks and standards.

  5. Adoption: Encourage adoption across public and private sectors.

  6. Professionalisation: Support the development and recognition of cyber security as a profession.
